Hawaii Pics

This is a view of the Honolulu skyline--Waikiki, I think--with Diamond Head as a backdrop. It's being taken from the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, or Punchbowl National Cemetery.

A Bird-of-Paradise flower. Deb took this photo. I think she did a pretty good job. It looks like the head of a bird. In paradise. Interesting.

It's funny how when I see a bird of paradise flower it doesn't really invoke much awe. I've seen them in my neighborhood so often as a child that I didn't realize they were anything but typical. It's the second time recently that I've had a friend showcase one though....
Strange how it's normal for some and exotic for others.
I.E. The snails over there are MONSTROUS!!!

The snails are big, but fortunately, we don't see too many. Too urban, I suppose.
