|It makes everything better.|
In a recent review article on dietary fats and health, Dr. Glen D. Lawrence concludes, "It is time to reevaluate the dietary recommendations that focus on lowering serum cholesterol and to use a more holistic approach to dietary policy."
He does so in light of the vilification of fats--and saturated fats in particular--over the past few, if not more, decades of both nutritional science and nutrition policies. (Though, admittedly, we have seen an easing up on certain vegetable oils in the recent past.)
Dr. Lawrence's paper is a shot across the bow of nutritional orthodoxy. It will be interesting to see how groups like the American Heart Association and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans committee--both notoriously anti-saturated fat--respond.
Frankly, I expect better things from Star Wars VII than the Dietary Guidelines--at least I know which will have longer lines of fans when each is released in 2015.
